Receipts of hogs at interior Iowa and southern Minnesota markets totaled 105 800 head in the first five days of the week, down from last week's 109 700 and above last year's 83 800. Traders expect heavier marketings later in March, with many heavy hogs still on farms and spring farrowings near. Prices fell 5 to 10 cents from Saturday to Friday, closing at near February levels amid slow demand for fresh pork.

Iowa Wool Growers to Receive Final Pool Payments
Des Moines secretary A. E. Brady announces final payment of 4 to 5 cents per pound for better grade wool, plus 16 cents advance and up to 10 cents more for burry and seedy wools. About 860000 pounds from 3000 Iowa growers were pooled for sale through the National Wool Marketing Corporation. Final payments hit in early April as remaining lots move within a week or ten days.
