ISU to lead Midwest food safety training center
Iowa State University in Ames will host the North Central Regional Center for Food Safety Training under the Food Safety Modernization Act. A $950000 four three year grant funds guidance across 12 Midwestern states, aiding growers and processors in meeting new science based standards and record keeping requirements. Angela Shaw leads the effort, surveying local needs and focusing on smaller operations while coordinating with cooperative extensions and regional partners.
