Riots at Michigan State preceded by riot arrests and conviction data
The Detroit News reports that after Michigan State University losses in the NCAA tournament more than 130 people, mostly students with no prior records, were arrested during the March riots. Of 113 convicted, 94 went to jail, paying over 300000 in restitution and totaling eight years behind bars, an 83 percent incarceration rate higher than national rates for first time rapists or robbers.
