Cedar Falls Man Dies in Accidental Gunshot
Wilfrid Burkhardt, 59, of Cedar Falls, was found dead on Ford Road after the 16 gauge shotgun he reached for in his pickup discharged, hitting him in the chest. The Cedar Falls man had told friends he planned to shoot wild dogs and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Black Hawk County Sheriff's Department reported the incident at 10:45 a.m.
