Women drop suit over single family definition
Three women and five children sued Cedar Rapids owners and the Hedges firm claiming they qualified as a family under a single dwelling rule. The case was dismissed after the owners filed an $11 000 counterclaim for alleged misrepresentation about the number of children. The plaintiffs argued a constitutional issue, while the attorney noted the lease was rescinded because the group did not fit the family definition.
