Weight loss charity fundraiser derailed by boos
Chris and Becky Corbett, Olin High School staff, led an eight month weight loss pledge drive for a band trip to South Dakota. Despite 256 sponsors pledging 15.28 per pound, only about 35 and 30 pounds were lost respectively. Students booed when Chris ate, and the target of 100 pounds would have raised 1528 dollars. The couple fears missing the goal but hope other fundraisers cover the shortfall to raise about 6000 dollars for the trip.
