Jack Lippincott 69 a World War II veteran died in Rome New York after a sudden illness. Born February 28 1924 in Grinnell he lived in Cedar Rapids before moving to Rome 50 years ago and worked for Collins Radio and Hallicrafters. He is survived by his wife Beverly Larson two daughters Rosanne and Toni K two sons Jack Jr and Dennis his parents and three sisters. Funeral arrangements to be announced at Turner chapel with burial at Cedar Memorial cemetery.
Cedar Rapids resident Elsie M. Watkins widow of W. Edward Watkins died Tuesday night at 1516 Fourth St. SW. Born in Keokuk on March 9, 1888 she married Aug. 9, 1905 in Sulphur Oklahoma. Survived by son Lawrence O. Watkins Cedar Rapids three daughters Mattie Brown Ernberger and Tuttle of La Habra California 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Services will be held at Janeba funeral home time to be announced.
Mrs. Kristina Veverka Skalsky, 95, widow of Anton Skalsky of 113 Elgave SW, died at home Tuesday afternoon after a brief illness. She was born in a log cabin near Solon on June 20, 1865.
The deceased resided in the area all her life and is survived by one sister, Mrs. Agnes Skalsky of Ely. Her husband died June 22, 1944. She was a member of Cesky Viastenky. Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Kuba funeral home with Rev. Milo Filipi officiating. Burial will be at Czech National. Friends may call at the funeral home.

The Iowa Highway Commission approved a policy letting utilities use primary road right of way with limits. Gas lines up to 150 psi may use the right of way if obstruction outside prevents installation. Lines up to 60 psi may attach to commission bridges with a $50 permit and extra costs. Overhead telephone lines may run on the right of way. underground lines are not allowed along shoulders or near signs.
