Eastern Town Band Festival in Cedar Rapids May 23
The eighth annual Fasterni Town Band festival will be in Cedar Rapids on Saturday May 23 drawing hundreds of student musicians and thousands of spectators. Edwin Goldman of New York City, noted band director, will attend with the state convention of the Bandmasters Association also present. Schools will nominate Miss Eastern Town contestants and Cedar Rapids hosts will join as hostesses. A parade opens the day with activities throughout and a night show ends the festival. The event is sponsored by the Young Men’s bureau and the Retail Merchants bureau of the Chamber of Commerce.
