Art collection appraisal and flood impact at Cedar Rapids district
The Cedar Rapids district owns more than 30 works by Grant Wood including Young Corn purchased for 300 in 1931 and housed at the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art. Nearly 13 million in value rests in artifacts across the district, with 10 Wood pieces at the museum as part of a flood aftermath collection. An appraisal system update is planned with a 5000 appraiser led catalog and insurance review.
