BrookView opens early to aid Cedar Rapids flood victims
A new $6 million 45 unit assisted living complex in northeast Cedar Rapids named BrookView at 2903 F Ave NW will open early on July 7 to house flood victims. Fourteen residents newly displaced have moved in or will soon join about 20 residents, with staff arranging furnished units and additional space in RidgeView and MeadowView facilities. The Views staff say they have helped many by prioritizing housing needs while continuing operations and noting several employees also faced flood loss but remained on the job.

Disaster unemployment aid offered to Iowa residents hit by floods
Iowa residents unemployed due to severe storms tornadoes and flooding may qualify for disaster unemployment assistance DUA even if not normally eligible. Eligible counties include presidential disaster areas with claims due by July 17.
