Fire destroys Yoder feed mill near Kalona
A three story Yoder feed mill north of Kalona burned Friday night causing an estimated loss of 250000. Fire started in the upper part about 1130 p.m. Cause unknown. Kalona, Wellman, and Hills fire departments fought the blaze with embers dampened until morning. The mill operated by Lester and Jonas Yoder was insured and will reopen Monday using stored equipment. About 2000 bushels of corn and oats, 40 tons of molasses, and 500 tons of feed were destroyed.
