The two bullets that killed Mr and Mrs Clyde Hoover of Lisbon were in Linn county officials hands by Monday noon. Harry Achey 47 Mechanicsville, son in law of the couple, is charged with firing them. One bullet struck Mrs Hoover behind the left ear. the other was at Mr Hoover’s skull base.
Two survivors of a three car collision near LaPorte City showed slight improvement. Barbara Rhodes, 2, daughter of Mr and Mrs Ross Rhodes, suffered a severe head laceration and numerous minor cuts when the car her father was driving collided with a machine driven by John Cook, 54, of Anamosa, at Laverne and Ellis boulevard NW at 1 20 p m Sunday. She was taken to St Luke s hospital by the ambulance service. Mr Rhodes received minor cuts and bruises and was treated at St Luke s.
