Mopeds and horses flagged as park problems
Mopeds and horses are causing growing issues at Legion and Thomas parks this summer says manager Dave Frimmel. Mopeds are banned from city parks and riders frequently violate rules by riding on sidewalks, in gravel areas, and near pedestrians. Horses are ridden in parking lots, sidewalks, near concession stands, and in park areas, showing disregard for pedestrians. The city ordinance forbids riding horses on public properties except on paved streets, and limits motorized bikes to designated park roads and parking areas with written permission for official use.
