Washington reports that the 1975 spring pig crop was the smallest since 1935, with 35.3 million pigs born December through May, 22 percent below last year. Economists cite high feed grain prices and expect little increase in production without a large feed crop. Farmers’ intentions for the 1975 July pig crop suggest a 2 percent drop to about 34.1 million head.
