Board Rejects Twin Pines School Busing Proposal
Cedar Rapids Community School board rejected a plea from Mrs. John Arbore for bus transportation to Hiawatha elementary due to unsafe walking conditions on Blairs Ferry road and lack of sidewalks. A survey found the district not required to provide transport since the shortest route is 1.7 miles, under two miles. The decision may be appealed to the Joint County school system, which dissolves June 30.
