Iowa crop report shows uneven rainfall and mixed crop health

Thundershowers brought scattered rainfall in parts of Iowa last week but did not reach all dry zones. The report says southern and eastern Iowa saw less than half an inch, with total weekly rainfall from 0.01 in Pella to 4.61 in Pocahontas, and a statewide average of 1.27 inches. Corn remains mostly good, soybeans emerged widely, topsoil moisture improved, and subsoil moisture held steady. Temperatures averaged 3 degrees below normal with highs around 92 and lows near 37.
