Linn county Attorney Eugene Kopecky protested to county supervisors that the planned parking scheme behind the courthouse undercounts his staff. He notes that four of the 15 work in the First Avenue office, and says deputies and assistants were not claimed in the survey. On this date in 1845, Texas agreed to annexation by the United States.
