Crabb Dies Former Iowa Publisher Memorial Rites Held

Iowa to abolish municipal courts by 1970 plan
Des Moines AP Iowa Court System Study Commission recommends abolishing municipal courts by 1970. Lawmakers may be asked to create a district court appointed commissioner to absorb justice of the peace police and mayor courts. The state has 13 municipal courts in cities including Ames Cedar Falls Cedar Rapids Clinton Council Bluffs Davenport Des Moines Dubuque Marshalltown Ottumwa Sioux City Waterloo. Final report due next January.
