Siemens and Gamesa form world leading wind turbine group
Siemens and Gamesa Corp. Tecnologica plan a merger to create the largest wind turbine maker with about 69 gigawatts installed globally. Siemens will own 59 percent, Gamesa 41 percent plus 1 billion euro cash. Headquartered in Spain with offshore unit hubs in Hamburg and Vejle, the deal targets completion in early 2017 pending regulators.
