Cedar Rapids Airport Budget Faces Tax Funding

The Cedar Rapids airport commission approved a 1966 budget of 175610 dollars with 137000 from rents and other income, leaving 338610 to be raised by taxes. Manager Frank Hidinger said no millage increase is needed. Major items include wages 79610 commodities 48200 repairs 26300 and capital expenditures 21500. The 1965 budget was 151140, with projections showing possible overrun of 8000 due to abnormal expenditures such as runway repainting 2000 and a heat incident causing damage on the northwest southeast runway. Leases for air coach space were adjusted with new rates, and space allocations for main and basement areas defined. The commission also approved a five year lease for two airlines and planned an air show at the airport on July 18.
