Neighborhood group preserves Spencer's Grove Church legacy
Sharon Koopman and fellow Lady's Auxiliary members repair seating and restore the Spencer's Grove Church five miles west of Walker. The restoration association, formed in the 1980s, rebuilt foundations, updated a tin roof and bell tower, and cleaned stained glass as weddings resume. A June 25 auction and a community fundraiser support ongoing work.
