Linn auditor contests supervisors in suit over deputy removal
Linn County Auditor Joel Miller heads a continuing suit against the Board of Supervisors after a judge denied their motion to dismiss. The dispute centers on Miller’s attempt to appoint Deputy Auditor Karen Heiderscheit to conduct internal audits, a move the supervisors blocked, and the subsequent removal of Deputy Auditor Sue Wold. The judge signaled the case will test whether supervisors improperly exercised judicial functions. The supervisors have funded Miller’s legal representation. the county attorney's office will represent the supervisors.
