Hansens market direct farm milk from 150 cows in Iowa
The Hansen family of Black Hawk County built a self designed creamery to market Hansen's Farm Fresh Dairy directly to consumers. They bottle whole and skim milk sold for 3 dollars a gallon off the farm, with distribution in 13 stores plus on farm shop and home deliveries. Their 1,400 gallon per day capacity produced 1,300 gallons in a recent week as they target 50 percent capacity by year end.
