Witnesses sought in Iowa City rape case downtown
Iowa City police seek witnesses to the rape of a 17 year old Cedar Rapids woman in a downtown parking lot near the old public library. The attacker was described as a tall slender black man with no facial hair, wearing blue dress pants and a white V neck pullover. The assault occurred between 10 45 p m and 12 30 a m with an 11 30 p m estimate.

Witnesses identify Kruse as driver in February crash
Clarence J. Kruse 21 of Hiawatha stood trial in Linn District Court on a suspended license charge after witnesses testified he drove in a Feb. 21 two car crash that may have caused a stillborn child. Eyewitnesses Rod Tefler and Brandon Miller linked Kruse to the vehicle. a police detective said Kruse later admitted driving. The case awaits a ruling.
