Moderna combined COVID flu shot shows stronger older adult response
Moderna released phase 8 trial data showing a single combined vaccine for flu and coronavirus produced higher immune responses against three flu strains and the virus in adults 50 plus compared with separate vaccines. The study involved about 4,000 participants per age group, with an acceptable safety profile. If approved, rollout could begin in fall 2025, amid broader plans to update vaccines annually.
