No Spanish Classes For City's Schools
Cedar Rapids school officials say there is little demand for Spanish in the curriculum and no steps have been taken to promote Pan Americanism. Superintendent Arthur Deamer notes only about six requests were received from high school students this spring and it is too late to start Spanish in the fall. To begin, 25 to 30 students must enroll for two semesters, though faculty are available.
