Cedar Rapids Man Faces Nineteen Traffic Charges

Danny Wright, 22, of 1011 First Avenue SW, was charged Saturday with nineteen traffic offenses after a pursuit through downtown Cedar Rapids reaching speeds up to 65 mph. He spun out at First Avenue W and Tenth Street and was arrested. Charges include six counts disobeying stop signs, three counts each of running red lights and speeding, plus multiple counts of leaving the scene and reckless driving. No injuries were reported. property damage totaled about $1,200. A bicycle rider was struck but not seriously injured. The six minute chase began when an officer saw the vehicle traveling the wrong way on the Second Avenue bridge and ended on the west side.
