Market Receipts and Hog Prices Reported in Des Moines

Des Moines reports Monday receipts around 55 000, down from 86 000 last week and 71 000 year ago, with Saturday actuals about 26 000. Hog market shows mixed activity with butchers and sows at various weight bands: 180-200 lbs 14.75-16.25, 200-220 lbs 15.75-16.25, 220-240 lbs 15.35-16.10, 240-270 lbs 14.80-15.80, 270-300 lbs 14.00-15.35, sows 270-300 lbs 13.25-14.50, 330-400 lbs 12.50-14.00, 400-500 lbs 10.50-13.00.
