Timing Key To Effective DDT Spraying In Iowa
Iowa farmers should time corn borer control with DDT by monitoring egg mass counts and corn height. State College entomologists report sprays outperform dusts when timed, ground methods better than aerial, and early timing crucial. Teachers will run district egg mass recognition schools to aid farmers in counting egg masses per 100 plants and interpreting results.
