Judge Reimposes Original 25 Year Sentence for Rockett
Sixth Judicial District Judge Christopher Bruns resentenced Jose Rockett 23 of Cedar Rapids to 25 years with a seven year parole eligibility, citing juvenile status at the time and prior behavior in custody. Rockett robbed two men and assaulted Officer Tim Davis in 2009, with Davis sustaining severe head trauma. Rockett apologized and requested removal of the mandatory minimum.
