How the Petersons live on one income and transit
The Petersons answer common questions about their frugal lifestyle. They use foldable carts, backpacks, and bike baskets for groceries and ride trains or buses for vacations. For emergencies they call 911 and they often have items delivered. Kent once rode home a new 13 inch TV on his bike using it as a dolly. Christine tracks bus schedules online to plan outings while Kent notes rain gear and practical attire. They say staying home with their children allowed Christine to be a full-time parent and they have not calculated the savings from not owning two cars since 1987.
