Nasty Habits Watergate Satire Review
A Brut Productions release stars Glen da Jackson Melina Mercouri Geraldine Page and Anne Jackson as nuns in a Watergate themed satire. The film follows Sister Alexander as she schemes to become Abbess of Crewe using bugging break ins and dirt, while Gertrude Mercouri aids in the scandal. Mixed tone and parody reduce impact though some performances and moments land, with controversy over religious subject matter.

Bell urges end to federal parole and new uniform sentencing
Attorney General Griffin Bell told Georgia lawyers the justice department may abolish the federal parole system and push a uniform sentencing range for each crime. A sentencing commission would allow appeals to adjust terms outside the range with prosecutors able to seek higher terms. The proposal, backed by the ABA, aims to deter crime.
