Long-serving Loras president retiring
James Collins of Loras College in Dubuque, the school's longest serving leader, will retire at the end of the 2024-25 academic year. He began at Loras in 1984 and became president in 2004, guiding enrollment shifts, major campaigns, and facility improvements including the Lillis Athletic Center and Rock Bowl Stadium expansion. Collins, age 62, plans a smooth transition with a national search underway and offers to help during the handover.
