Carter faces resistance as House Democrats reject price decontrol and plan to reinstate ceilings. Aimed at curbing oil use and spurring production, the plan follows a Friday price step raising domestic oil to world levels by 1981. Gasoline demand data signal slowing growth while U S energy officials anticipate wider gasoline availability with June allotments arriving.
