Judge Eads Faces 60 Day Suspension in 1985 History
The Iowa Supreme Court suspended Judge William Eads for 60 days in 1985 after a commission investigation found he improperly intervened in a divorce case involving a close friend. The report cited comments to an attorney about fees and conduct with the firm Simmons Perrine. Eads later remained chief judge of the 6th Judicial District until not being reappointed, while colleagues and bar associations debated the sanction.
