Raymond M. Nolan of Cedar Rapids died at 3 10 p.m. Friday at his home after a brief illness. Born September 23, 1914 in Kirkland Illinois, he was a Cedar Rapids fireman since 1941 and served in World War I with the military police. Survived by wife Hazel and two children Sharon and Timothy, his parents Mr. and Mrs. M J Nolan of Cedar Rapids, and sister Mrs. Vera Haller of Anderson Indiana. Requiem at St Patrick's Church follows military rites by the American Legion at Cedar Memorial cemetery. Msgr Lenihan to lead Rosary at 7 30 p.m.

William H. McArthur aged 85 of 1004 Tenth Street NE Cedar Rapids died Saturday morning in a local hospital after a long illness. Born March 29 1863 at Morse he lived in Cedar Rapids most of his life. Survived by wife Josephine two sons James M and Raymond a brother James and two sisters Mrs Martin Alt and Mrs G H Lutz and two grandchildren all residents of Cedar Rapids. Services will be held Tuesday at 10 am in Beatty chapel with Rev F H Ward officiating burial in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call at Beatty chapel after noon Sunday.

Judge Floyd Philbrick fined him 500 dollars plus costs after he was arrested about 11 p.m. Friday by Mt Vernon town marshal Ed Gill for erratic driving from Lisbon to Mt. Vernon. Dodd had a prior drunken driving conviction on May 5, 1931, in Clinton county.
Edward Nemecek, operator of Nemecek's grocery on Highway 30 east of Cedar Rapids, reported Saturday morning that his store was broken into during the night and $200 was taken from a cash box. Deputy Sheriff Larry Condon investigated, noting entrance was gained through a rear window by riping off the screen.

Judge Floyd Philbrick on Saturday filed a decree foreclosing a lien on 20 shares of W. F. Severn Company stock held by J. H. Vosmek. Special execution for sale of the stock was ordered to satisfy a default judgment of 2655.13 in favor of the Severn Company on a promissory note dated October 2, 1933. Thermo Craft Inc. received a Friday default judgment of 428.25 against Frank Lewis on an account. St Luke’s Hospital sued Clarence and Clive Young for 160 on an account. Baker Manufacturing Co. sued Adelbert Clevenger and John Nassif for 411 on an oil burner and furnace installation in the Nassif residence.
In Dallas, about 1000 housewives will join a week long meat boycott organized by Mrs. R. D. Vaughn president of the Dallas Chamber of Commerce. The plan calls women to refrain from buying meat for one week to pressure grocers and suppliers to lower prices.

Passenger Dick Prior 18 from Tenth Street SE sustained cuts and bruises. both were returning to Cedar Rapids from a West trip. Bruce J. Held 9 of Council Bluffs drove the other car. no injuries reported.
