Beiruti Prime Minister Sami Solh escaped death when an exploding car struck near his procession near Beirut. Eight people died and a 5-year-old girl was hurt as two assailants fled. The attack occurred on the Beit Mery road nine miles from Beirut amid mounting political tension and calls for Chamoun’s resignation.
