Cedar Rapids police report two cyclists on C Street near the Highway 30 on ramp around 2 am were struck by a pickup that fled the scene. Iowa City residents Aleksey Gurtovoy and Martha Hampel filed an affidavit to start an initiative to ban traffic surveillance devices including red light cameras, drones, and license plate readers. They seek a new ordinance requiring officer tickets for any surveillance use.
