Man dies in 70 foot fall from Burlington water tower
Burlington police report Michael Hilscher 23 of Mascoutah was painting a water tower for Steel Maintenance Corp of Belleville when he slipped from a ladder and plummeted 70 feet. He died at Burlington Medical Center after being taken there by fire officials. A coworker noted he was ready to climb down when balance was lost.
