Falstaff at Hancher Auditorium Opens with Notable Cast
Voice of Johnson presented by Mrs. Ford with Kathryn Focht singing as Johnson's mother. Solo delivery impressed by high range and ease. Tancy Colburn as Meg Page and Wendy Bloom as Dame Quickly offered refined mezzo roles. Scenic lighting modest yet effective. Final act woodland scene murky and mysterious. Elves and sprites added charm. No major chorus numbers. Curtain rises 8 tonight with another performance Saturday.
