Reclusive Iowa brothers leave prairie legacy on Three Rivers land
Palmer and Roger Larson, lifelong bachelors on a Humboldt County farm, donated 150 acres to Iowa DNR to create a prairie and wetland in the Three Rivers Wildlife Management Area. The estate funded regional museums, hospices, and services, while the landscape now hosts 109 native species and growing wetlands amid surrounding cropland.
