Twin Pines council to pick developer for 20 acres Aug. 15

Two developers Hamilton Partners and Hunter Companies have submitted qualifications to develop the western 20 acres of Twin Pines on Edgewood Road NE between 42nd Street NE and Highway 100. The council will interview Aug. 8 and pick Aug. 18, with plans for a mixed use project and possible lifestyle center. The city also plans a reneger plan for the golf course using sale funds.

Potter Crowds Turn Out For Final Book Release

Crowds gathered at Coral Ridge Mall in Coralville and stores in Cedar Rapids to buy the seventh and final installment of the series. Staff handed out wristbands and awarded points for costumes as midnight approached, with a top ten costume countdown. Teens and young adults dominated the crowd, while some adults joined in.
