High Court Justice William Douglas Divorced in Oregon

Supreme Court Justice William Douglas and Mildred C. Douglas were divorced in Baker County circuit court on statutory grounds of desertion. The 54 year old jurist did not attend the brief proceedings. They married in 1923 and have two grown children. British Seize Six Germans As Red Spies

British authorities arrested six Germans on spying charges for Russia. Two women among the group include a former Royal Army telephone exchange operator. Four men hailed from Brunswick with two from the Luneburg Heath area near British military installations. They were captured July 8 and will face a high commission court in Duesseldorf on Friday.

Coralville Reservoir Funds Cut by Senate Conference

A Senate House conference committee eliminated funds for the Coralville Iowa reservoir project.
