Cedar Rapids murder case sees 18 year old reject plea offer

In Cedar Rapids an 18-year-old, Tramontez Lockett, charged with first-degree murder and related counts for a 2023 plan to fatally shoot 16-year-old Michael Alexander McCune, declined a plea offer. His co-defendant Baynon Berry's trial is set for Jan 7, with other teens involved in the alleged conspiracy.

Jesup Man Killed Pinning Under Lawn Mower Accident

Jacob William Knepper a 43 year old Jesup resident and high school math and science teacher died after a lawn mower tipped from a trailer and pinned him. The Buchanan County Sheriff's Office says first responders removed him but he was pronounced dead. The incident occurred near 1000 block of 160th Street and remains under investigation with aid from Jesup Fire Department and Ambulance Service.
