Marion to build firefighter training center in Marion
Don and Ruth DeVault left 900000 to the Marion Firefighters Association for a capital project. The city will use 1300000 of the DeVault gift to fund a two-structure public safety training center next to the public services facility at 195 35th St. The project costs 28 million, with completion of the burn structure by fall 2025 and the training tower by spring next year. The center aims to serve regional police and EMS and improve live-fire training while avoiding citywide burns.
