Marion Neighbor 10 000 football cards

Scott Andrew, a 14 year old from 1900 Grand Ave, builds a mixed collection of football trading cards and comics. He has about 10 000 football cards, around 800 baseball cards, and 300 comic books bought cheaply and sold for profit. He trades at swap meets, values condition highly, and hopes to fund college.

Park road plan trimmed at Squaw Creek Park

Linn County Conservation Board will hear a compromise plan Monday to trim a road in Squaw Creek Park to protect wildlife areas. The middle 2000 feet of the mile road would be removed, with two dead end sections becoming parking areas. The plan keeps overall site layout and may allow later completion if a lake is built. The project faces approval by the Conservation Board and Linn Board of Supervisors, who fund it from about 70 000 dollars. Meanwhile a new well, bid accepted from Ralston Well Drilling for 8475 dollars, will replace an inadequate water supply. The state rejection of 88090 dollars in federal funds for park development limits further improvements despite revenue-sharing and county funds.
