Man Drowns in Cedar River After Skinny Dip Incident
Donald Ray Turner a 31 year old Cedar Rapids man and motor repairman drowned in the Cedar River after he and Rita Zook 18 waded into shallow water near the Eighth street bridge. Turner reportedly did not swim and went under while Zook escaped to a sand bar. Rescue crews recovered his body near the hole around 8 a.m. Turner was found wearing only tennis shoes.
