Four year old Tina Hilko fell from rocks into the sea at Monhegan Island Maine. Her mother Mildred Hilko 40 and Estelle Hoffman 30 drowned diving to save her. Jacqueline Lendeau 40 tried to aid from shore and was hospitalized in shock.

Linn County Awards Two Road Grading Contracts
The Linn County board of supervisors awarded two road grading contracts Friday. M. L. Johnson Construction Co of Cedar Rapids will grade 3 miles of Fortieth Street south from Marion for 51,938.08 dollars.
