Former Linn-Mar coach sentenced to 14 years in prison
Former Linn-Mar High School assistant track coach Kameron Beets, 32, was sentenced by Sixth Judicial District Judge Ian Thornhill to 14 years in prison after pleading guilty to third degree sexual abuse and sexual exploitation by a school employee involving two teenage boys in 2021. Beets also faced Alford pleas in separate cases, with victim impact statements cited by prosecutors. his lifetime sex offender notification and no contact orders were imposed, while his lawyer sought concurrent terms.
