Iowa outcome of deadly derecho leaves Cedar Rapids county with outages
The derecho swept through central and eastern Iowa with 60 to 70 mph winds and caused widespread damage across Linn and Johnson counties. Cedar Rapids faced debris collection orders as Alliant Energy reported about 28 000 outages statewide with 2 000 remain without power Tuesday morning. Dubuque suffered the most outages and wind speeds there topped 100 mph.
